As you are aware, Cell and Gene Therapies (CGTs) are increasingly recognized for their transformative potential in treating complex and previously incurable diseases, making them a key focus area for India’s biotech and healthcare sectors. DBT and BIRAC are committed to fostering the growth of this emerging field through targeted initiatives.

To this end, DBT and BIRAC organised a virtual stakeholder consultation involving industry experts, academia, regulators and policymakers. This consultation resulted in a white paper with recommendations aimed at strengthening regulation, fostering innovation, and aligning India’s CGT sector with global best practices. Building on these insights, DBT and BIRAC are organising an industry-academia meet on “The New Frontier: Innovation, Regulation, and Access in Cell & Gene Therapy”, to advance these recommendations, support collaborative dialogue, address regulatory challenges, and engage all key stakeholders in shaping India’s CGT ecosystem.

This stakeholders’ meeting is scheduled in Delhi on 06^th November 2025. The agenda with venue details will be shared shortly. You are requested to block your calendar for this important event. 

This CGT dialogue is an invitation-only meet that brings together key CGT stakeholders to share insights, discuss challenges, and explore collaborative solutions to strengthen the CGT framework. Please consider this email as a special invitation for a discussion towards developing a National Mission Program on CGT (NMCGT).
