This Theme of the conclave was: “Driving Real-World Impact from Health Research”-“Future of Health Research in India.”

I represented the Rare Disease community in a session Community Voice Panel:

It was a good occasion to bring the Rare Disease voice in a Community Health discussion alongside senior and distinguished Community or Public Health Champions

Padma Shri Dr Abhay Bang, Co-founder SEARCH, Gadchiroli

Prof K Srinath Reddy – Chancellor Institute of Public Health Science (Deemed to be University)

Dr Narendra Kumar Arora, President AIIMS Bilaspur

and was Chaired by Dr B S Garg, Secretary, Kasturba Health Society, Director, Dr Sushila Nayar School of Public Health, Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Wardha, Maharashtra

I was able to bring the attention of research need for Rare disease in absence of treatment to more than 95% conditions and why India need local research to produce low cost and sustainable treatment

The day long discussion was able to bring the focus on Health Care Policy, Infrastructure, Role of Private Institutions, and patient engagement etc.

A special thank you to the BMJ team for Inviting me and for opportunity.
